Today may find you reaching out to loved ones in order to forge a closer and more genuine connection. By sincerely communicating your desire, you open the door to create a safe space for each of you to reveal intimate parts of yourself that you usually keep hidden. These may be the areas of our lives in which we feel shame or regret, or perhaps that just make us feel vulnerable. But intimacy is built upon vulnerability and trust, and without it we cannot gain a deep understanding of the motivations behind our actions or those of our loved ones. There is, of course, the risk of rejection. It can be painful, which is why we may have found ourselves avoiding it.
