You may feel like giving to others today, which could make it easier for you to volunteer your services. It might be you recognize that positive change in this world begins with small and charitable acts that come from the innermost depths of your spirit. Practicing seva, or selfless service, could make the care and love you give to others all the more precious. As you choose one kind act to do today you can look inside of yourself and reflect on why you wish to give to others. You may notice that your desire to help is born of a need for affirmation or validation, for example. If you can then picture that you, as you know yourself, are composed only of atoms as are the people you serve, you might come to realize that giving is simply an exchange of energy. This can make it easier for you to give unselfishly.

The truest act of giving involves doing without intention. So often when we give we have an ulterior motive. Examining our motives allows us to notice that when we give in order to receive, we aren\'t truly giving. Seen in this light, the act of giving changes to the act of receiving. Once you recognize, however, that you are part of the same universal energy and spirit and that your acts are an interplay of energy, you will be able to release your ego and truly give from within today.
