Cancer Horoscope: Loving Embrace

Loving Embrace

February 28, 2019

The love you have for the people who mean the most to you in your life may put you in an affectionate mood today. It could be that your love is so ebullient that you feel the need to connect with them through a loving touch or embrace. Perhaps giving your loved ones a hug or, if they are far away, mentally hugging them could be a way for you to demonstrate the amount of love you have for them in your heart. It might be an even more powerful experience if you can imagine that your arms are a physical extension of your heart, uniting you in love with another person. Transferring your love through your loving touch can bring you much closer to the people you care about today.

A hug is a powerful way to illustrate the depth of our feeling for others. The mere act of physical touch is something that not only brings us in closer contact with another person but is also an act that conveys the emotions emanating from our heart on an energetic level. Others may never know the true extent of your care for them unless they feel it on this level. Connecting with others through an embrace is also something that is much more compelling than words can ever be. Giving someone you care about a hug today will bring you closer together and will demonstrate the real feelings you have for them.

Our Insecurities

Our Insecurities

by Madisyn Taylor

We all have glorious imperfections making us utterly human.

At some point in our life there may come a time when we feel insecure about ourselves. We might judge our ability to do something or feel self-conscious about the way we look. It does not matter how this feeling manifests in our life, but it is important to be aware of our thoughts and how they impact our view of ourselves. Once we remember that insecurities are a normal part of life for everyone--even those who appear to be extremely self-assured--we may find it easier to step back from the uncertainty that lies within and take a more realistic look at ourselves.

The desire to improve or better ourselves is a natural response that arises when we begin to compare our lives to those of other people. It might seem, for example, that we do not have nearly as much going for us as our neighbor, best friend, or coworker. In truth, what we think we see about another person is usually what they want us to notice. They may be putting on a mask, trying to make things in their lives seem better than they are. If we were to look at their lives a little more closely, we would also realize that they are human, full of glorious imperfections that make them who they are. Recognizing this may take some time at first. Should we, however, feel our uncertainties begin to surface, taking deep breaths while at the same time acknowledging each one of our gifts will help us become more centered. Doing this allows us to see the wonders that lie within and lets our inner beauty shine forth into the world all the more brightly.

When we hold up such a detailed mirror to our lives and weigh ourselves against others, we are not able to see the things that make us truly unique. Giving ourselves permission to appreciate all the universe has given us, however, will make us feel more secure about ourselves and more able to use our gifts to their fullest.

Cancer Horoscope: What Your Body Wants

What Your Body Wants

February 27, 2019

You could be more aware of your body and the wonders of its energetic nature today which may compel you to focus more closely on nutrition and exercise. Maybe the desire to take better care of your body is due to the understanding that emotional and spiritual health are so much easier to attain when you also have physical health. This would be a good time to reevaluate any exercise or diet routines you have. Rather than thinking about both in terms of what you think you 'should' be doing, though, you may want to instead look within today and listen to what your body wants. Try taking a few minutes to ask your body what it really needs to do in terms of exercise and diet, remembering that if you ask yes/no questions, you may get a much clearer directive. Asking your body itself could provide you with a much greater realization about its most basic requirements.

Learning to listen to our bodies allows us to do what is best for our overall wellbeing. Even though we may read that some type of diet or another is good for us, it is really only when we take the time to explore what our bodies really need that we will get the true answer, for our bodies have a wisdom and consciousness that is much more visceral and intuitive than we may realize. By checking in with your physical being today about its needs, you will be further along the path toward vibrant health and happiness for your entire being.

The Peaceful Warrior 4-Minute Meditation

by Dan Millman

Most of us go about our daily activities without much attention towards the subtle and simple pleasures of life. The experiences that captivate our senses and stand out to us are usually more dramatic as we as a society have collectively come to expect flashiness and grandeur. We want to be wowed, but are less easily impressed with each passing day. What would it feel like to awaken each morning grateful simply for the gift of a new day -- the ability to move your body, see a palette of colors and shapes, enjoy aromas, taste an array of food, feel the pleasure of touch, play with the material world, and bathe in the currents of passing time? This course teaches a brief yet powerful meditation practice to instill a profound appreciation for the life you were given on planet Earth -- something most of us take for granted. By the end of the course, not only will you have memorized this meditation, you'll also have gained a deep understanding of its benefits. This understanding will evolve into realization and revelation over time, with practice.

Your Last Breath

Your Last Breath

by Madisyn Taylor

Sometimes the only way we can see the beauty of life, is to remind ourselves that it is finite.

Procrastination is an almost universal human habit and one that infiltrates nearly every aspect of our lives. Modern existence is so complex, and much of what we long to do is left to wait by the side. We know what is important but tend to let the weight of worldly pressures lead us astray. To get back on track, however, we need only take a moment to consider where our thoughts will be as we take our last breath on this earth. More likely than not, at that instant, disagreements, bills, petty annoyances, and other frustrating elements of our lives will no longer seem as significant as they once did. Thoughts of loved ones and the positive impact we had on the world would no doubt occupy our remaining thoughts. Whatever we imagine ourselves musing upon during our last breath will almost always be representative of what truly matters to us.

This simple exercise introduces us to a new way of thinking. While our attention is drawn momentarily to the end of life, our contemplations serve to point out that we are masters of our own perspective and, consequently, our own existence. There is nothing preventing us from shifting our focus right now as we imagine we will in our final moments. We can choose to spend more of our time and energy on what gives our lives meaning. We can spend more time with loved ones and do more of what we enjoy. Doing so may not always prove easy, and there will inevitably be times when circumstances interfere with our resolution, yet we do not have to regard this as an indication that our priorities are not in alignment with who we really are.

Sometimes the only way we can see the beauty of life is to remind ourselves that it is finite. Gandhi said, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow." His words are a potent reminder that living life more fully is not about pushing ourselves harder or shouldering more burdens, but about experiencing all the wonderful richness life has to offer.
