You may feel the need to express yourself creatively today, which could be the result of a desire to understand your deeper feelings about your life and the people in it. Perhaps today you might consider setting aside time for a creative endeavor--writing, art, or music--that inspires you. Before you start, you can take a moment to focus on your second and fifth chakras, which are the body's energy centers for creativity and expression. First bring your attention to the second chakra, the area about two inches below your navel, and imagine a bright light. Feel its energy grow with each breath you take. Next, you can picture yourself pulling this light up your spine to the fifth chakra, the area in the middle of your throat, and feel the energy grow in this center with your breath. You might find that this helps you feel more creative and able to express yourself.

Using meditation techniques allows us to unleash our creativity. When we feel our muse calling, we might just jump into whatever it is that we do to answer it. If things don't go our way, however, we might feel frustrated or annoyed with our progress. Our art then becomes a trial instead of a joy. Meditating before doing something artistic not only engages the related energy centers, but it also helps to relax us enough to let our true voice come through. By focusing on your energy centers today, you will access the innermost areas of your body, mind, and spirit that fuel your creativity.
