You may find yourself experiencing a state of mindfulness today, as you feel more attentive to what is happening in your surroundings as well as your inner reaction to those things. This may feel like a form of vigilance as you observe your thoughts and emotional reactions from a higher perspective. From this perspective, we do not judge what we find in ourselves or others, but we examine them from a safe distance. Anchored in spirit, we are not moved--except when we find the truth echoing through our observations. These exercises point the way for us as we walk our life paths today, consciously and with full awareness.

When we exercise mindfulness, we watch our thoughts and reactions drift by, accepting them for whatever they are. If we observe that our thoughts tend to drift in a negative or detrimental direction, we can gently make a correction without berating ourselves. Through this process, we learn to rely more heavily on our higher selves, the part of us that is connected with the wisdom and truth of the universe. We remember that we can control our thoughts and they do have an impact on universal energy. Therefore, we make a conscious choice to use our mental and spiritual energies positively and constructively. When we become attentive to what occurs within us today, we gain greater insight into ourselves and the mysteries of life unfold before us, making life a conscious process of discovery.
