You could feel an abundance of energy that could encourage you to take care of domestic tasks at home today. It might seem that by tackling projects at home you are creating space for greater overall control of your life as a whole. As you go about your day today, you may want to work on doing your activities with a sense of awareness. While doing dishes, for example, you could focus on the sensation of the water on your skin or the motion of your wash cloth against the dishes. Notice the details of what you are doing. Should your mind happen to wander and think about other things, you can gently bring it back to the present moment by concentrating on the tactile feelings of your tasks. You might notice that using awareness to complete your chores can be a form of meditation in action.
Doing our daily tasks with awareness helps us remain grounded in the present. When we do things around the house, such as cleaning and organizing, it becomes so easy to think about other things and let our minds drift away. By cleaning with awareness, however, we stay aware of what we do. As we notice our sensations, we give our full focus to the task at hand. Working in this way gives us the means to incorporate meditation into every aspect of our lives.
