You may feel like relaxing and taking it easy today, which may make it easier for you to put off the things you have to do. Perhaps this lack of motivation is the result of being overwhelmed by your responsibilities and your desire to escape into the repose of procrastination. While taking a breather is a healthy thing, it is also important to keep track of your obligations. Setting the goal to get at least one or two critical tasks done today might not only give you a greater sense of accomplishment, but it could also give you enough free time to relax without worrying about the various things that are on your plate. You may find that this makes your day much more enjoyable and productive as well.

Putting the things that are important first allows us much more time to do what we want. When we are not excited by something, it is really easy to sink into a state of lethargy, letting ourselves simply bide our time. The energy we get from getting things done, however, is something we can use to motivate us; by feeling that we have been productive for a little while, we'll feel better about ourselves, be less guilty about spending time on other pursuits, and might even feel like delving deeper into our tasks. Doing something positive for yourself by getting your work done first will be the incentive you need to do rewarding and energizing things today.
