Your work obligations could be taxing you physically, and this may leave you with less energy today. The exhaustion you feel might be the result of putting your real needs aside in order to meet the needs of other people. What your body is telling you may be a sign to slow down and listen to what it wants. Perhaps today you can practice this by checking in periodically with your body. Try closing your eyes, and allow your breath to become steady and calm. This breath awareness should relax your mind enough so that you can feel what you most need. You might even ask your body specific questions such as, "Do I need rest?" or "Am I hungry?" Even though these seem like basic questions, you may find that you will know immediately what you need to do to not only feel better physically but emotionally as well.

Our body consciousness tells us what we have to do in order to feel a greater sense of ease and calm with ourselves. When we work hard, we tend to overlook the most basic necessities, for example, skipping meals or reducing our sleep. Although we can sustain this for a little while, our bodies will eventually react, most oftentimes through exhaustion. Learning to become attuned to the messages you receive from your body today, however, will help you understand what you need to do to keep your energy going, and you may find that not just your body but also your entire being will feel better overall.
