The effort you are putting into your tasks could make you feel weary, and you may find that this might use up most of your energy today. Even though it is important to give your best, you may want to keep in mind that your best is always good enough, and if you put too much energy into something without getting anything back a lack of balance can occur in your life. Perhaps today you could do periodic energy checks by stopping what you are doing, taking a few minutes to become grounded through your breath, and then asking yourself whether or not the amount of work or the type of task you are doing is something that is positive for your overall well-being. Becoming aware of how you expend your energy could give you more insight into how to remain healthy and refreshed throughout the day.

Mindfully watching ourselves allows us to channel our energy into the areas of our life where it is most beneficial. Many of us are inclined to work hard hoping that we'll get something positive back--affirmation, validation, praise. In such situations, the energy we put out is almost never given back to us for we are working not to gain something positive but to avoid something negative. Noticing this, however, will help you do what is best for you. By keeping an eye out for how your tasks affect you, you will find it easier to do what excites and animates you today.
