The respect and acceptance that you might be receiving from your peers may make you feel validated today. Being acknowledged for what you do can be a wonderful thing, for it can let you know how other people view your accomplishments. Even so, perhaps this would be a good time for you to accept the accolades from others, but with a humble and pure heart today. When others compliment you or give you praise, for example, saying a simple "Thank you" and imagining that their kind words are flowing through you, touching your soul but that they are not responsible for your sense of self can help you to realize that whatever you achieve is something that is ephemeral. This can let you accept a flattering comment gracefully, and it can also make it easier for you to receive others' approval without needing it to realize your own worth.

Modesty allows us to understanding the fleeting nature of praise. When others find our work commendable it can be something that we use to work toward, that is, the joy we feel is a motivator for us instead of satisfaction of the work itself. Letting go of our need to receive praise, however, lets us work with a much purer intention – for the joy our efforts bring and the fulfillment we get from doing what we love. Receiving compliments humbly today will enable you to value and feel content with your own accomplishments.
