Change in the New Year
A New Year, New You Wish

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year to you and yours. I just love this time of the year when we are all feeling like we want a new start in life. There is always such a rush of fresh energy from people excited about what the new year will bring. Rather than making a holiday wish list, we are making our wishes for the year ahead and readying ourselves for change.

For me, last year was full of change and presented many challenges and lessons, even more than usual I would say. It felt to me that everything was accelerated and amped up a notch, as if I pushed a button or flipped a switch indicating "bring it on!" I really wanted to live each lesson to the fullest, and I found myself digging deep on many occasions to make adjustments in my awareness along the way. I remembered to say "thank you" to Spirit for providing each lesson, as I know that each one, as painful as it was, was a gift.

As I take this time to contemplate the previous year of my life, I feel very proud for having the courage once again to face situations I would have rather buried. I'm hoping that reading DailyOM has helped you too, and I am always amazed by your courage when you write to me. Well done, my friends, well done.

This is also the time of year when many of you make resolutions for the year ahead. We cannot deny the energy that is in the air at the first of the year. There is something about leaving the holiday season and putting away the decorations that leave us wanting to start anew. For most people it is a natural time to make adjustments and set goals in their life. I can assure you that your higher self doesn't care when you start a self-improvement program—it just wants you to do it!
