DailyOM: We love this course! Tell us what inspired you to create it?
Sadie: I watch women suffer every day because they are resigned to the fact that they have to watch their faces and necks sag and decline with age. They were taught to believe that aging is inevitable, and gravity gets the best of all of us. Yet, we don't believe the same thing about our bodies. We know we can lift and sculpt our bodies — at literally any age. Science knows this, and we are seeing more and more examples of healthy, fit people in their 80s and even 90s.
Why wouldn't we assume the same is possible with our facial muscles? But you have to do specific workouts to get benefits like these — and I've never seen the workouts done properly anywhere else. So, I decided to create a course based on facial anatomy and exercise science, which you'll hear more about below.
DailyOM: Can we really turn back the clock and tone our face — naturally?
Sadie: We can't turn back the actual clock, but we sure can turn back the accelerated aging clock that many people experience because they never work out their facial and neck muscles. I have clients send me before and after photos. They look 20 years younger because they stopped accepting the "aging happens" mantra and decided to create a new one — "I can age fiercely!"
DailyOM: What can students expect to learn from your course?
Sadie: They'll discover the power of my signature style — Face HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). If you look at the science and all the studies that have been done on the effects of different types of exercise, HIIT is the gold standard. It is by far the fastest and best way to lift muscles (and the skin) and define a face, at any age. Doing other types of facial exercises that move more slowly or not in the proper timing would take you 30 minutes a day for 20 weeks to see even a moderate improvement. I don't know anyone who has that kind of time to spare for face workouts.
For decades, HIIT has given better results for our bodies in just a fraction of the time of most exercise programs. And facial HIIT studies show the exact same results.In my course, students will get seven face HIIT sessions — a holistic weekly workout routine that takes less than 10 minutes a day to completely transform their faces and neck.
DailyOM: Tell us about a favorite practice in this routine that you love and why.
Sadie: It's hard to choose, but I think the underjaw lift is my favorite. It's the one that can lift up what people call a "turkey neck" and save them from expensive and temporary surgeries. Women often email me photos and stories about their success. Jill, who is 63, shared that this one exercise lifted her neck so much that people are sure her photos have been photoshopped. (They haven't.)
DailyOM: What other feedback have you received about this course?
Sadie: The feedback is fantastic. Women tell me they are being set free by this program. They are taking the aging process back into their own hands (and face!). It's awesome that you asked me this because I just got an email from a woman this morning who said that she loves the 10-minute program so much. She is seeing results after just one week and wants to know if she can keep doing it over and over. The answer is: absolutely! These workouts grow with you as you go.
