You might find it easier to break free of these patterns today if you activate your conscious awareness. You could eat something flavorful, making note of which parts of your tongue respond to different tastes, or wrap yourself in a blanket and notice how your skin responds to the fabric. You could also brew a cup of herbal tea and pay attention to how the strength of the scent increases as the tea steeps in your mug. Doing any one of these things today may free you of a tendency to make choices based on unconscious emotions.
