A closer look at Motivation from Madisyn Taylor
The Motivation of the Summer Sun

by Madisyn Taylor

Dear Friends,

Welcome to July. In our household we are still adjusting to the new rhythm that summer break brings upon us each year. Some things never change from year to year. One is the undeniable sense of happiness we feel when we are out and about. Faces are lit up with joy, whether they are on vacation or heading out for some fun summertime activities. Our days are long and full, and the increase in sunshine leaves me with so much more energy.

In my case I'm using my increase of energy to get a lot more writing projects wrapped up, using the motivation of the summer sun and finishing my work within a six-hour span each day before my son comes home from his activities. This month our DailyOM theme is "motivation" and what that means to us in our lives. I've noticed that some people are just naturally motivated—whether they are working on their "to do" list, a hobby, or their career, these people just seem to have an inner cheerleader. It may be a surprise to some of you, but I am not that type of person. I need to dig deep and look in the closet for my inner cheerleader, and when I find her she argues with me. I'm sure I couldn't possibly be the only one that feels this way.

If you need help getting motivated in your life, I have selected several courses that address this issue. Sometimes we just need a little help.

21-Day Consciousness Cleanse by Debbie Ford. As the title implies, this is a 21-day course in which you will receive an email from Debbie's foundation with a daily recorded message. These recordings are not found anywhere else and are truly special visualizations from Debbie. You will also receive workbook questions with each lesson, along with daily mantras, morning practice worksheets, and other healing worksheets. Although Debbie is no longer with us here on earth, her light and teachings continue to shine upon us. more info

Create Badass Habits! by Jen Sincero. This is a new course for us by my very badass friend. Jen walks her talk and that is what I love about her. Receive a new lesson every day for three weeks (21 lessons). Jen will teach you how to ditch lousy habits and fully support you to create new habits that stick. She also includes 21 videos. more info

Master the Path of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. This is a 12-week course in which Dan presents you with one of the 12 key facets of spiritual growth. Each lesson is designed to bring you closer to your higher self. In the final lesson you are given the opportunity to look back and appreciate how your perspectives have expanded. more info

Find Your Soul Purpose through the Akashics by Teri Uktena. This is an eight-week course in which Teri teaches you how to access your soul book in the Akashic Records and remember exactly who you are and what you are meant to do in this life. more info

Reinventing Happiness by Deepak Chopra and Sonja Lyubomirsky. This is a 14-week course (one lesson per week) that is divided into two parts. The first seven lessons are based on Deepak's book The Ultimate Happiness Prescription: 7 Keys to Joy and Enlightenment, and the second part is based on Sonja's book The How of Happiness: A New Approach to Getting the Life You Want. more info

Thank you for inviting me into your life and allowing me to be part of your evolution. Hearing about your success stories really helps keep me motivated, especially on those days when I'm worn out and don't have an ounce more to give. You are my heroes!

Be well,

Madisyn Taylor

A Year to Clear What is Holding You Back!
by Stephanie Bennett Vogt

With all our best intentions and rich resources, why is it so hard to slow down, simplify, and care for ourselves? Why do most clearing efforts fall short or peter out? Why are we so afraid to let go? Our drive to attain and succeed comes at a great cost to the soul. We are malnourished, if not starved, when it comes to compassionate self-acceptance, awareness, and care. We yearn for simplicity but struggle to find it. We ache for balance but can't sustain it. There is no time to juggle it all, let alone clear the things and thoughts that have caused us to feel so overwhelmed in the first place. This course has been a long time coming. From short contemplations, tools, tips, new science and concepts, one-minute practices, audio meditations, videos, and personal stories - each lesson builds one upon another to develop your clearing muscle and grow new habits that will last a lifetime. Each message is designed to work on you all day!
